Welcome all Vikings to the new school year! I am looking forward to being your teacher and I know that we will make this year a great one.
Hello Everyone! Welcome to Amundsen. I am excited to be a teacher here where I teach freshmen biology and senior anatomy and physiology. We are all so lucky to be Vikings here at AHS.
I grew up in Chicago and I am a proud graduate of the Chicago Public Schools. I love science and all the fascinating and crazy things that make science fun to learn. I earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I graduated with honors and did a senior thesis project on Fish Ecology and Benthic Invertebrates while interning at the Illinois Natural History Survey. Upon graduation, I worked at the Shedd Aquarium in Veterinary Services, performing water quality analysis and animal healthcare. I moved on to do fish behavior research at Loyola University Chicago, and earned my Master's degree in Education from Loyola as well. Working with volunteers and undergraduate students helped me to realize my passion for teaching, which leads to today! I have been happily teaching at Amundsen since 2018.
