Lydia Maldonado

Hello my name is Lydia Maldonado and I am in my 29th year as an educator. I began my career as a science teacher and transitioned into my current role as a professional school counselor, 22 years ago. I am starting my 5th year at Amundsen and am grateful to have been so kindly welcomed by our staff, community, parents and most importantly our students. I am serving students whose last names range from Mu through R. I work with students on their academic needs, college and career planning, as well as provide them with social/emotional supports, when needed. In addition to my responsibilities as counselor, I also lead our Post-secondary Leadership Team and co-sponsor the National Honor Society.

 

On a personal note, I am the mother of a 24 year old son and have two senior dogs, Nala and Tuzzi. I enjoy reading, movies and spending time with my family and friends during my free time.
