I am thrilled to be here for my 4th year at Amundsen. This year I will be teaching Geometry, both Honors and MYP. Geometry is conducive to helping students gain spatial reasoning and truly understanding that mathematics is an abstraction of reality through the use of hands-on tangible applications. Geometry also aids students in developing logical thought processes through the use of proof writing.
I am a career-changer, coming from the arts, a retired ballerina, dancing with companies such as Milwaukee Ballet, Ballet Oklahoma and the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago.
Educationally, I have a B.S in Economics and an M.S.T. (Masters of Science in Teaching of Mathematics through the math department) both from UIC.
I have been given the opportunity here at Amundsen to use my experience in the dance world by choreographing the first school musical in 10 years, Chicago, 2023. We continued last year with our second musical, Mamma Mia. Both were successful beyond my expectations! Cannot wait to get started on this years' musical!!!
