About Me:
I am currently at Amundsen as a Diverse Learner's Math Teacher. I co-teach with several teachers throughout the building. Although this is my first year teaching, as a parent of two CPS kids, I understand what supports are needed for students and parents. It is my goal to not only teach content, but to be a resource to students, parents and the community. I am a recent graduate from Northeastern Illinois University (12/21) where I completed the Master's of Arts Learning Behavior Specialist program.
My previous role was as a SECA in IL D7 where I supported students prek-grade 8. I was an active member of the D7 Remote Learning Transition Committee that was dedicated to allowing students to safely return to in-person learning for the 2021-22 school year. During my schooling at the University, I had the opportunity to observe and volunteer in a public elementary school in Stockholm, Sweden where I worked with Syrian refugee students. I grew up and attended school in a rural farm community in Wisconsin, but came to Chicago in 1990. It's amazing to be working in the same school that my mother graduated from Class of 61'.
