The Amundsen Homecoming Golf Classic is a community event established to support the Amundsen High School Athletic program. Amundsen families, alumni, residents, and community businesses are encouraged to participate. Proceeds will benefit the athletic program, equipment, and a student-athlete scholarship fund.

Amundsen High School will be hosting a college and career fair for Amundsen students on Friday, October 1st, from 1pm to 3:30pm. For more information, students should reach out to their counselor. College Representatives who are interested in participating should direct their inquiries to the attention of Ms. Marinda Kennedy, whose contact information may be found on this site.

Congratulations to Dominic V. on his first place finish at the Chicago City Math League Finals this spring! He won the McCarthy-Murzin Award for the highest cumulative Algebra score in his division in the city.

Congratulations to our Viking Scholars for finishing 3rd at state and representing Amundsen at the Virtual Nationals for Division IV teams!

AHS leadership is hard at work organizing an extra special prom-style celebration for the Class of 2021. With the help of an expert planner, the school’s back parking lot will be transformed into a safe, festive outdoor venue. The student fee for this prom-style celebration is $100. However, additional funding is needed to ensure all seniors have the opportunity to attend and that we give the Class of 2021 a Viking-worthy night to remember! The Friends of Amundsen prom fundraising campaign will help pay for outdoor party needs including tents and other enhancements needed to turn a parking lot into a safe and memorable venue. The goal is to raise $2,500 by Friday, June 4. Click on the link above to show your support! Thank you for your generosity!

18 Amundsen students participated in the 2021 Illinois Japan Bowl on Saturday, March 13, 2021. The Illinois Japan Bowl is an academic competition that tests Illinois high school students who are studying the Japanese language on a wide range of topics including their knowledge of the language and their understanding of traditional and modern Japan. One Amundsen team comprised of Matthew Bell, Kailey Garcia, and Carmen Garcia, won 2nd place at the Level 3 competition behind the UChicago Lab School, beating out New Trier Township HS who came in 3rd. We are so proud of our Japanese Language Vikings and of their teacher, Ms. Hitomi Kameyama, for this great achievement. Congratulations to all!
