The Amundsen faculty and staff would like to express our gratitude to the FOA members, parents and students who shared their time, effort, and amazing baked goods with us last week. Over 30 Viking volunteers made & delivered goodies for 130 AHS teachers and staff which means over 1,500 cookies were made!

We know families are facing many challenges this year, and this extra effort in the midst of remote learning and everything else that is happening is truly appreciated. Your efforts created little bright spots in our day and reminded us all once again how lucky we are to work at Amundsen. Thank you FOA!

Join us for a virtual panel discussion for current Amundsen parents with current Amundsen parents.
The Parent Initiative Team (PIT) is a subcommittee of the AHS Post Secondary Leadership Team. PIT represents parents of all of the following AHS Parent groups: *PAC, BAC, FOA, FOAA, LSC Reps
PIT’s purpose is to streamline communication and events across all parents on campus and to collaborate with the AHS staff to leverage overall communication.

Congratulations to Senior Magali Perez for winning the FOA’s Senior Shirt Contest! She describes her design as “I think it’s a good representation of all the struggles we have gone through and how we have developed as a new generation.” Thank you to all students who submitted a design. This document provides that for the first time ever, parents, guardians, and staff will be able to vote by mail for LSCs. Community members will still vote in person at schools on November 18th (Elementary) or November 19th (High Schools). Please read the CPS press release for details.

Friends of Amundsen Athletics (FOAA) operates as a partner under Friends of Amundsen as a charitable 501(c)(3) and dedicated to promoting school and community support for the Amundsen High School athletics program. FOAA is funded through initiatives made possible through our Amundsen Allies and support of volunteers and community members. Proceeds go towards student-athlete programs and supplies, and events that promote family and community awareness of Amundsen High School Athletics. On Thursday, October 8 at 1 p.m., the Amundsen High School Local School Council Election Coordinator and Principal will host a webinar where we will be drawing names to determine order and placement on the Amundsen High School Local School Council ballot. Thanks to the generosity of our Viking community, The Friends of Amundsen exceeded their original goal of $10K and raised $15,959 to purchase Chromebooks for Amundsen!!! 💻❤️🖤
